Christmas 2013

What a busy term it has been again!

We have seen a number of changes at the start of this academic year. Our Head of Department, Dr Katie Thirlaway, took up a new post as Director of Learning and Teaching in Cardiff School of Sport. Whilst we were sorry to lose Katie we are delighted for her and wish her every success. Our newly appointed Head of Department is Dr Lalage Sanders. Dr Heidi Seage and Amie Prior joined us this summer to complement the team, and we have been very pleased to welcome Amie and Heidi into the department.

We have had a number of events this term, including visiting speakers. Last week we were very pleased with the outcomes of the validation event for the new Doctorate in Forensic Psychology. This is the only forensic doctoral programme in Wales and one of only three in the whole of the UK. This is an excellent achievement for the team and offers new possibilities for us all.

Next term looks like it will be just as busy. Lalage and Dan will be available each week in Zen if people would like to talk about concerns and issues with the programmes, or even if people would just like to say hi and to steal a chocolate.
